• To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to children, young people and their families, within Children’s Psychological Services (CPS) and/or multi-disciplinary CAMHS.
• To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and psychological therapy.
• To offer advice and consultation to non-psychological colleagues and to other non-professional carers.
• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Specialty and Psychology service’s policies and procedures.
• To utilise research skills for audit policy and service development within the area served by the service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist, who is currently registered with HCPC and is interested in developing and consolidating their skills in working with children, young people and their families/carers.
Current Trainee Clinical Psychologists that are due to qualify in October 2023 are welcome to apply.
The core role will be to provide a psychological assessment, formulation and intervention with children and young people. We support our staff to deliver high quality and innovative psychological interventions with service-users through consultation, individual, systemic/family, and group work.
In addition to the core child clinical psychology service, you would be given the opportunity to develop special interests and expertise, in line with service objectives.
We are a friendly and supportive team, which consists of CAMHS Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists, Psychiatrists, Nurse Prescribers, Primary Mental Health Workers and Psychological Therapists.
We are committed to CPD and encourage innovation and development. There will be opportunities for post-qualification support, including an early career peer support and CPD framework, supervision and consolidation of core and specialist competencies, alongside more experienced colleagues both locally and across the region. All Clinical Psychologists have an agreed Job Plan, which protects their core clinical commitments and allocated time for other aspects of their roles.
Lancashire &South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
