Job summary
The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) Care Research and Technology at Imperial college London is seeking an outstanding junior doctor ready to take on a challenging role, with considerable scope for independent scientific achievement and personal growth. The post would ideally be pre-doctoral. They will be a key member of the research staff in the group of the Centre Head and Institute Director Professor David Sharp. They will work with the UK DRI CR&T team to support clinical aspects of the Centres work, which will include new technology, advanced neuroimaging and fluid biomarker assessment. They will have the opportunity to develop a research project and will be encouraged to undertake a PhD, applying for additional funding if required. The research will combine sensor systems and behavioural assessment, machine learning / AI, and human compatible robotics with classic interventions, and trial them directly in patients’ homes.
Duties and responsibilities
You will:
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals and present your work at conferences.
- Obtain research grants from national and international funding bodies, and obtain funding from industry where appropriate
- Providing medical assessment and cover for clinical studies within the Centre, which, where required, could exceptionally involve providing medical advice to study participants outside of normal working hours
- Supervise postgraduate students and undergraduate research projects
Essential requirements
- We are looking for a Doctor who is medically qualified with registration at the General Medical Council (GMC) and has an excellent academic track record.
- Some post-registration experience (or equivalent)
- Ability to develop and apply new concepts; Able to formulate research questions and develop successful research proposals and funding bids
- Willingness to undertake any necessary training for the role

This is a Full Time and fixed term role until 01 January 2027, based at the White City Campus.
This role will include a London Allowance of £2,162 on top of the salary advertised.
