Due to their continued growth and high demand for their bespoke products, Big Red are working closely with the business to recruit a CNC Machinist into the company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control 3, 3 axis (CNC) machines to produce precision components and bespoke products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining principles, be proficient in reading technical drawings, and possess excellent problem-solving skills to ensure quality production.
Responsibilities:
- Use CADCAM to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements.
- Set up CNC machines according to job specifications, including loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming machine controls.
- Operate CNC machines to perform machining tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary.
- Inspect finished work(s) using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform routine maintenance to keep machines in optimal condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist or similar role, with a strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming and operation of machining centers (milling, turning, etc.).
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing production schedules.
