Job description

Join a dynamic and growing company as a CNC Operative and be a vital part of our client's manufacturing team. If you have a passion for CNC machineries and a keen eye for detail, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

As a CNC Operative, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing jigs and production parts, ensuring they adhere to specifications and meet our client's high-quality standards. Reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, your duties will include:

  • Manufacturing production components
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with company and regulatory standards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying and resolving any non-conformance issues
  • Performing manual/CNC machining, including turning, milling, and surface grinding
  • Carrying out sub-assembly and bench fitting of precision tools
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Creating fixtures and work-holding devices as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship in a discipline such as "Toolmaking," "Machining," or "Fitter/Turner" OR relevant experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of CNC machining is an advantage
  • ONC-HNC in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of five years' experience in an engineering environment
  • Competence in using engineering machinery such as milling machines, lathes, drilling machines, CNC machines, and surface grinders
  • Additional skills in CAD/CAM systems (e.g., Alphacam, Featurecam), inspection using CMM or Faro Arm, and computer literacy are advantageous

This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive annual salary of £36,750 per year. In addition to the regular benefits, you will have the opportunity to work a four-day week, giving you a great work-life balance.

To excel in this role, you should be self-motivated, conscientious, and have strong communication skills. The ability to work well within a team is also essential.

Please note that this position requires the use of a car due to the location of our client's organisation. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 4:45 pm, allowing you to enjoy long weekends.
