Address A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for the finance business partnering the Boden product teams and is the single point of contact into Finance for the stakeholders within the area. Supports the team by working closely with them on all matters relating to stock, margins and returns ensuring the commercial risks and rewards are clearly understood and communicated with the teams and back into the finance and business leadership.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Partnering
- Partner with a specific area in the business to provide the Exec and DoTs with a single point of contact for all financial matters.
- This includes being the expert in understanding and insight into the area’s monthly management accounts; work with the business area to build rolling budgets and forecasts and the evaluation of new initiatives and projects.
Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse and interpret the monthly management accounts and work with the business area on remedial or development plans.
- Looking at the big picture to make sure key areas have been considered.
- Understanding the detail of costs and margins with the teams to help drive commercial decisions
- Balancing the impact of working capital management against commercial actions to drive the most value into the business
- Working with individuals and teams to ensure a product and commercial mindset and helping teams to action any outcomes
Financial Planning
- Work with the business area to produce budget and forecast packs at the appropriate level of detail including risks and opportunities.
- Scenario and sensitivity analysis as required.
- Methodical working papers such that workload can be easily shared across the team.
Projects
- Work on ad hoc projects as agreed with the Head of Commercial Finance and Planning. Eg competitor analysis and quarterly profitability analysis. Ensure all projects are managed and delivered on time and to high quality levels.
THE EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong analytical skills with an enquiring mind and able to challenge status quo
- Excellent capability in Excel modelling and use of Big Data.
- Previous experience of working as a business partner for a product team (or similar) with online retail experience desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication.

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with experience of working in an FP&A team.
- Ability to influence and confidence to challenge stakeholders across the business working at multiple levels and communicating financial results appropriately to the relevant audience.
