Location: Manchester (hybrid working)

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 plus great benefits

Duration: 12 months FTC

This is a great commercial and value adding role where you are able to immerse yourself within the company and gain great exposure at a key time in their strategic plan. This is a visible position working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to provide robust commercial insight that will support and implement changes across financial modelling and reporting across the businesses capital and investment team to maximise performance and drive initiatives for profitable growth

General responsibilities:-

• Lead on new reporting requirements to improve the way the business oversees, reviews and tracks investment spend and returns
• Use your technical knowledge and experience to identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities across the team
• Provide insight and oversight on post investment appraisal reviews
• Provide professional advice, guidance up to senior management level, sharing expertise to support effective decision making on investments
• Support on adhoc investment decisions or strategy support as required
• Support development of finance analysts within the team

You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills - able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail

The successful applicant will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified coming from a similar Commercial Finance role with experience of investment appraisal techniques and modelling to support effective decision making?

You will be able to demonstrate being an effective business partner, decision maker, having commercial awareness and being a finance lead where you have driven value add and commercial insight /benefit. Experience within the retail, FMCG, multisite sectors is desirable.

You will have strong business partnering, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills and in particular the ability to communicate, direct, challenge and influence senior level individuals. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, adaptable, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements. In addition you will have the ability to work independently and together with other personnel both finance and non-finance.

We are looking for someone with sparkle, drive & energy to come in and really drive some significant improvement. The individual in this role needs to have strong analytical skills, business partnering and influencing skills in order to be a success in a complex area of the business with multiple stakeholders. You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.
