Commis Chef
The kitchens at the Grand Hotel are a hive of chefs using their culinary flair to create appetising dishes for all our guests. As Commis Chef you will be a key team player in the kitchen, helping to ensure the effective running of the department.
What you will do
- Participate in the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with established recipe cards and methods
- Ensure all dishes are correctly garnished before being sent to relevant outlets
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner as befits the venue
- Have the desire to be trained to cover other sections of the kitchen as decided by the senior chefs
- Remain totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach
Ideal candidate
- Experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar role is essential, and it would be advantageous for this to have been in a hotel kitchen.
- We are looking for someone with a real passion for food and the drive to succeed in a new role.
- Outstanding hygiene skills are essential
- Certificate in elementary food hygiene would be desirable.
- Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
