Job Description:
Stowford Farm Meadows are seeking a reliable and motivated Commis chef to join our busy team. As a Commis chef, you will assist in food preparation and work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality.
Duties:
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Support the team in maintaining high standards of food presentation
Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and ingredients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Commis or similar role is preferred but not required
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Uniform provided. Own transport essential due to rural location. This is a seasonal position until the end of September.
