Barbican Kitchen in Plymouth has the position of Commis / Chef de partie available, using the best seasonal ingredients, in a fun professional setting, come join a forward thinking team, headed up by an excellent head chef and guided by the professional knowledge and skills of the Tanner Brothers.
As a Chef you will report directly to the Head Chef. The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:
- Food preparation
- Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
- Running a kitchen station
- Supervising, motivating and working closely with other Chefs of all levels
- Being responsible for following health and safety practices
- Being responsible for following food hygiene practices
- Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
- Assisting with food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
Alongside some of these more general skills, a good Chef should possess:
- Ability to produce good quality food
- Good oral communication
- High level of attention to detail
- Good level of numeracy
- Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge
