List of Duties:
1. Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for various dishes.
2. Follow recipes and instructions provided by senior kitchen staff.
3. Handle and store food items in compliance with health and safety regulations.
4. Cook and assemble dishes under the supervision of the chef de partie or sous chef.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and equipment.
6. Assist in inventory management and stock rotation to ensure freshness.
7. Learn and apply basic cooking techniques, including chopping, grilling, sautéing, and baking.
8. Support the kitchen team during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
9. Adhere to food hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
10. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
11. Learn about different ingredients, flavour profiles, and culinary techniques.
12. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
13. Take direction from senior chefs and be open to feedback for improvement.
14. Help maintain a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen.
15. Assist with special events, theme nights, and catering functions as needed.
Training
1 Day a week of Lessons in Exeter College

Minimum grade 4/C in English & Maths
