Job Description
Ready for a sizzling career move and join our team at Sofitel London St James? You will play a pivotal role in our kitchen working alongside a fantastic team. The food you prepare, cook and serve makes our guests smile and wanting more. We are an inclusive company and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.
Job overview
Produce all necessary food for all food service operations in the correct time frame as required and instructed by the Sous chef or Chef de Partie.
Monitor and maintain consistent food standards and quality during all stages of production and supply
Ensure that the cleaning of the kitchen and staff food service areas is to the agreed standard.
Maintaining quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the product presented.
Ensure stock rotation and use by dates for the production are followed
Liaise with the team to coordinate ordering and mise-en-place
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Commis/Prep chef is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to display a real passion for food
