Commis Chef
We are a family-run Australian business that operates food and beverage outlets at airports, creating exceptional experiences for all our customers.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Heathrow Airport (landside, terminal 3).
People are at the heart of what we do, and our staff are central to the success of our landside pub.
You will be a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic team player, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and passionate about food and beverages.
This is an hourly paid role, and you will be required to work shifts. Shifts may include an early morning start (e.g. 5 am) or a late finish (e.g. the last flight) (there is no requirement for split or double shifts).
Main duties
- Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in all areas of food preparation and food service
- Work effectively with the front of house team to deliver excellent service to all customers
- Ensure that quality, quantity, and presentation of all food prepared meets the company standards
- Ensure the cleanliness of food preparation areas and be aware of potential dangers in failing to comply with correct cleaning processes
Requirements
- Previous kitchen, food preparation and service experience with a good level of independent thinking (Airport setting helpful but not essential)
- Ability to address potential health, safety, and hygiene concerns and address or escalate these as appropriate.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
- Highly organised and able to work effectively and engage others whilst under pressure
- Able to deliver to sometimes conflicting priorities and still maintain service levels
- Able to effectively order and rotate stock to maximise revenue and reduce waste
Please note: Any successful candidate will be required to:
- Provide proof of their right to work in the UK
- Obtain an Airport Landside ID Pass in order to access the site. The process for this includes personal/employment referencing for a minimum 12 months. It is essential that you are able to meet this requirement.
