Job description

About Us

The National Brewery Heritage Trust (NBHT) is a registeredcharity that preserves, promotes and supports the National Brewery Collection.  The Collection itself is a treasure trove of around half a million items covering 250 years of brewing in Britain.

These include artefacts such vehicles, brewing equipment, models, beer and pub memorabilia, signage, artworks, packaging, advertising and point of sale materials as well as a vast collection of archive materials - including thousands of pub and brewery photographs, films, books, records, ledgers, journals and plans.

The NBHT is run by a board of trustees, supported by a small number of volunteers and fixed term contractors.

About the role

Following a period of change, we are keen to increase awareness of the National Brewery Collection and attract new audiences to it.  In addition, we want to increase awareness of the NBHT itself, as well as raising vital funds via donations, memberships and sponsorships to enable us to continue and step up our work.

We are seeking a Marketing Officer who can work with us to deliver compelling content across a range of digital platforms as well as more traditional communication channels.  The aim is to inspire more engagement with the National Brewery Collection, as well as to secure increased volunteering and financial support.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Develop a Marketing and Engagement Plan and once approved successfully deliver it.

This would typically but not exclusively include:

  • Reviewing & refreshing existing social media presence e.g. Facebook, X & Instagram.
  • Produce and publish regular written & visual content e.g. newsletter, & blogs.
  • Maintain the content of the NBHT website, keeping it fresh and relevant.
  • Research & develop strategies with a nominated Board member to raise awareness & increase visitor traffic to the digitised archive and associated website.
  • Use analytics to monitor effectiveness of activity, report to the NBHT Board at regular intervals, review and adapt output as necessary.
