Job description

  • Are you a risk management professional with a passion for driving better practice?  Or do you have a professional services background working with senior stakeholders in large organisations?
  • Are you interested in applying your expertise in a different capacity?
  • If you're a risk manager or business analyst with 3-5 years of experience in-house or in an advisory firm, we're looking for you to join our team and work with risk leaders to enable better practice risk management.

Risk Leadership Network is a young, innovative, fast-growing information business that helps risk leaders around the world implement best practice through peer collaboration and knowledge sharing. We enable this through virtual collaborative meetings, in-depth benchmarking and practical practitioner-driven content. To learn more about the network visit https://www.riskleadershipnetwork.com/how-it-works

As a result of our growth, we are recruiting for an additional UK-based Content and Community Manager to work with our European and MENA members.

Working within a team of six Community and Content Managers based in the UK and Australia, you will support Chief Risk Officers at some of Europe and MENA's largest corporations to enhance risk management through peer collaboration and Content

What does this role involve?

You will work closely with our members to understand and support their priorities. This could involve connecting them with other subject matter experts, hosting collaborative meetings with international peers, conducting targeted benchmarking research or producing content and reports.

To do this, you need to be an excellent communicator and able to explain complex issues clearly and concisely. While we don't expect you to be a risk expert, you must be comfortable working on topics where you are not the expert.

Our members have diverse needs, so you'll need to be happy juggling multiple priorities and connecting the dots. You'll be confident moderating discussions with senior risk leaders and have excellent written skills so you can quickly summarise the key findings from meetings.

In addition to working with members, you will build and grow a network of risk manager contacts to identify best practices and new innovations.

What are the benefits?

We are a small but growing team, so this role will appeal to someone who wants to make an impact. You will be joining a company where your opinion matters and where you can directly contribute to the development of an ambitious, independently-owned company. You will be working with senior business leaders at some of Europe’s largest corporations on a topic that’s becoming increasingly important in today’s uncertain and connected world.

You can enjoy a flexible hybrid role that allows you to work from home 3 days per week and 2 days in the office.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Member engagement

  • Maintaining close and regular contact with members, who are CROs or senior risk leaders, to understand core risk and business priorities. This will inform several streams of work, including the development of collaborative member meetings, case studies and benchmarking projects.
  • Working collaboratively with members to understand and support their risk management priorities. Develop and deliver targeted activity and Content, with the help and support of the team, to support members.
  • Working with the Community and Content Team Manager to manage specific requests and respond efficiently to any member queries. Queries typically relate to current risk management challenges and/or priorities.
  • Ensuring wide-spread use of services (primarily the Member Portal, virtual meetings, Intelligence platform, benchmarking and comparison tools), among key individuals and other stakeholders within member organisations, in line with member engagement goals.
  • Working with the Community and Content Team Manager and wider team to manage member retention in the lead-up to membership renewals.
  • Continuously building and maintaining a strong network of (non-member) risk manager contacts and subject matter experts across sectors, geographies and expertise who could contribute insights to the network.

Collaborative meetings

  • Moderate 2 - 3 collaborative virtual member meetings per week, supporting risk leaders to collaborate on a wide cross-section of risk management-related topics.
  • Distill key findings from meetings and share these back with the network, highlighting new thinking and better practice.
  • Work with the Community and Content Team Manager to source content for and build & maintain a programme of collaborative member meetings. This includes having regular meetings with members, non-member risk managers and subject matter experts to source ideas.
  • Research, source and brief relevant speakers for weekly meetings.
  • Manage all virtual meeting communications, including invitations, registrations and follow-up communications, via direct and ‘personalised’ emails

Benchmarks/reports

  • Work with Risk Leadership Network’s content team to oversee the delivery of member-led, targeted benchmarking projects.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to build and maintain relationships with members, both internal and external, is essential for this role. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is also essential.
  • Knowledge of risk management is an advantage but not essential.
  • Research and analytical skills: The ability to research and analyse information is essential for this role. The applicant should be able to identify and gather relevant information, and then analyse it to identify trends and insights.
  • Project management skills: The ability to manage and deliver projects is essential. The applicant should be able to set goals, develop plans, and track progress.
  • Teamwork skills: The ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential. The applicant should be able to collaborate with others, share ideas, and give and receive feedback.
  • Problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and solve problems is essential. The applicant should be able to think critically and creatively, and come up with solutions that meet the needs of the members.

Personal specification

  • The position would suit a curious, proactive and highly capable individual who is excited about enabling better practice risk management through peer collaboration.
  • The position would also appeal to an individual who would relish being a key member of a growing team, where their opinion matters and who would directly contribute to the development of an ambitious independently-owned company. The role requires excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • The successful candidate needs to be eligible to work in the UK. Some liaising with the Australian team is required (in the form of working earlier mornings a couple of times per week, as part of flexible working).
  • Candidates who would prefer to work on a less than full-time basis will also be considered.
