This is a thriving secondary school located in the Ward of Erdington, committed to providing an exceptional education for all students. The school has been deemed 'good' by Ofsted, reflecting their dedication to high standards of teaching and learning. They are now seeking a passionate and motivated Computer Science ECT to join their dynamic team.
As a Computer Science ECT, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education to students at both KS3 and KS4 levels. You will be responsible for covering all aspects of the national curriculum, ensuring that students develop a strong understanding of Computer Science principles and practices. This is a permanent position, offering an exciting opportunity for career development and growth within our supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Foster a positive learning environment where students feel motivated and inspired to excel.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Differentiate teaching approaches to accommodate the diverse needs of learners within the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Computer Science department.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing Initial Teacher Training (ITT) leading to QTS.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science, with a passion for inspiring young minds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students of varying abilities.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
