The post holder will be a committed clinician with an interest in Lung Cancer and contribute to the planned Respiratory Support Unit. They will have a track record of excellent clinical service delivery, service improvement, teaching, training, and other qualities as identified in the person specification. It is a requirement of the post that every doctor takes part in annual job planning and annual appraisal as part of the revalidation of cycle. Duties of the post will include bronchoscopy sessions, general respiratory ward rounds and teaching and supervision of junior medical staff. The ideal candidate for this post should be skilled in Endoscopic Bronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) or willing to undertake training in this procedure. The post is for 10 Programmed Activities per week with an additional PA available subject to negotiation to cover a Saturday morning ward round (currently on a 1:7 rota). Participation in the General medical on call rota the current rota frequency being 1:16, which will incur an additional PA. Total PAs for this role is 11.5.
