Job Overview

We’re looking for an ambitious, all round creative content marketer to help support the daily activities of the marketing department here at Flora & Curl with a focus on social media, content management and email marketing. If you’re someone that is looking for an exciting challenge and the opportunity to work with an ambitious team we’d love to hear from you.

Now is an exciting time to join us at Flora & Curl as we continue to grow and increase our brand awareness globally. Our ideal candidate has experience creating effective social media designs, engaging email creation and delivering overall compelling content.

Growing our social media community across multi platforms is a key focus for us and we’re looking for someone that is social media savvy and interested in keeping up with the latest trends. We’re in a try and test phase here so would love to bring someone on that is confident to share new ideas and suggestions and bring something new and innovative to our team.

This role is perfect for someone looking for a 360 approach to marketing where they can learn and develop their skills combining a love for design, content and social media marketing.

You’ll be working closely with the Marketing Manager to plan and execute a variety of content (social media, blogs, infographics, videos, e-guides, product collateral, etc.) to help the business build brand awareness and influence prospects through the buying cycle:

  • Planning: Plan, create and execute an engaging and lead-generating content strategy for key audiences and verticals
  • Content Creation: Partner with the marketing and sales teams to develop unique, engaging, solution-oriented content that maintains brand and product standards, voice and style
  • Content Marketing: Repurpose content to maximise the opportunity to influence prospects to take action
  • Expert-led Content: Leverage subject matter experts within the business and externally to drive and scale the production of compelling content
  • Analysis: Liaise with teams to align to business objectives and ensure that content delivered is commercially strategic

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media

You will play a fundamental role in supporting the day to day management of our social media channels with the aim to drive community growth & increase brand awareness. Working collaboratively with the marketing team you will help build the social media content calendar, coming up with creative, exciting and engaging trend-led content ideas that will help grow our brand presence and online communities across multiple platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and Linkedin.

With a social first approach to marketing, you will be someone with a general interest in keeping up to date with the latest trends within social media and be open and confident to share new ideas based on what you have seen within the industry. You will be naturally inquisitive and someone that wants to learn more, expand their knowledge and dive deeply into understanding the audience data and statistics to help determine social media decisions and activations.

A creative flair and eye for detail will be key for this role as you will take the lead in content design to support the social media strategy and the wider marketing team. This would ideally be supported by an interest in organic video and photography to help us expand our organic content database and grow our presence on Tiktok.

You will have social media marketing and content creation experience and proactively engage across multiple social channels. It would be great if you had some experience of using Tiktok within a brand setting with exposure to Tiktok Shop. However, this isn’t essential and we’re excited to help you learn and develop professionally within this role.

  • Populate our multi-channel social media platforms with engaging assets that you have designed in line with our brand guidelines & social media pillars to improve engagement, education and inspiration amongst our online community.
  • Craft engaging and compelling captions for social media with a multi-channel approach keeping in mind our TOV at all times, ensuring that written content encourages interaction.
  • With support from the Marketing Manager work collaboratively on the social media strategy and plan activations, a calendar of events and campaigns in line with what best fits the brand.
  • Proactively research and take an interest in exploring new approaches to social media marketing and what other brands within the haircare/beauty industry are doing successfully and be confident in presenting new ideas and suggestions.
  • With support from the wider marketing team help create and edit engaging organic content that can be used across Tiktok and Reels to showcase the brand and products.
  • Dive into the analytics and statistics of our social media performance to help identify opportunities to expand reach and engagement further whilst tracking content performance

2. Content Design

You will love to design and be a natural creative that can quickly understand and adapt to a brand’s style ensuring that all content is in line with the brand guidelines to maintain consistency. Our ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to help design a number of different assets for the company to help keep up with the changing world of e-commerce and the haircare industry.

You should understand how different design styles work for different channels and will be confident in working to set briefs as well as independently. We would like someone who is confident in their design capability and can bring to the table design suggestions, mock-ups and thought provoking ideas to help elevate the brand whether that’s through social media, online or other marketing assets.

As the brand continues to grow there will be more opportunities to work on exciting new creative projects including event assets, merch, product mock-ups and retailer assets. You will be excited by the creative opportunities available within this role and the opportunity to expand your design skill set.

  • Lead content design for the company supporting the marketing team primarily but also working cross department on design projects that might be needed.
  • Be confident in designing social media assets for different channels that are engaging, thought provoking and encourage interaction.
  • Support the wider team with content design for wider creative projects, online and print. Creation of new marketing materials consistent with the firms brand guidelines, including, flyers, adverts, banners, brochures etc.
  • Support the creative direction of the marketing department ensuring all content adheres to the brand guidelines and aligns with the TOV of Flora & Curl.
  • Create moodboards to support creative projects such as content days or photoshoots to help the wider team visualise goals and ideas.

3. Email Marketing

You will be passionate about crafting compelling email campaigns that drive results, foster audience engagement and increase traffic to the website. With a keen eye for detail you will be a natural story-teller that is excited by the opportunity of connecting with our community on a more personal level. Working with the marketing manager and wider team you will help ideate, design & create weekly email newsletters to inspire, educate and empower our large subscriber list. You will be proactive in your approach to email marketing and liaise effectively across the company to create campaigns that support the wider needs of the business.

With support you will also help manage the way we interact with new visitors to the site with the implementation and management of email flows that are triggered by different on-site activities. You will be keen to help implement new approaches that can help improve the experiences for customers and subscribers, ensuring we connect with them effectively through multiple touch-points.

Your creative flair will help aid your design process and you will approach email design with a thorough understanding of our brand guidelines and tone of voice. On top of creativity, you will be keen to explore the analytical side of email marketing and work with our marketing manager to develop an effective strategy that is results driven.

  • You will ideate, craft and design weekly newsletters and campaign emails on Klaviyo in line with our brand guidelines.
  • You will be proactive in coming up with new email marketing campaign ideas to help drive engagement and increase website traffic, and be keen to explore new ideas with the wider team.
  • You will help to manage current flows & support the creation of new email flows in line with newly launched strategies that we adopt.
  • Dive into the analytics of the email marketing campaigns you create and understand what the audience is responding to and what they want to see more of. Be confident to share new ideas and suggestions.
  • Support the marketing manager to adopt ways to grow, segment and refine our subscriber list so our deliverability rate is always effective and we are able to communicate with our audience appropriately.

Experience

  • Social media marketing (Instagram, Tiktok (including Tiktok Shop) and Facebook)
  • Content design and graphic design, including ability to adapt to brand guidelines and understand brand tone of voice
  • Experience working on beauty/haircare/e-com email campaigns previously and running A/B tests and segmenting audience lists (bonus)
  • Experience in beauty/haircare industry (bonus)

Qualities

  • You have a solid understanding of each social media platform and how they are consumed by users.
  • You have excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to convert complex concepts into clear, engaging messages for internal and external audiences.
  • You’re a natural creative with a strong design portfolio of previous work or passion projects.
  • You are confident in your abilities and look forward to the opportunity to share new ideas.
  • You keep up with the latest social media trends and tools to help increase online presence.
  • You’re naturally inquisitive and excited by the opportunity to learn and work collaboratively.
  • Have a good understanding of Flora & Curl’s range, product differentiation and philosophy.
