The Role
The Law Society is the professional body for solicitors in England and Wales. Our vision is to promote, protect and support solicitors, the rule of law and justice in England and Wales.
For nearly 200 years we have championed solicitors working in the public interest and their role in protecting rights and promoting justice. We have over 200,000 members who contribute £60 billion to the UK economy each year. We are proud of our dynamic and diverse profession and its unrivalled expertise.
As Content Executive, you'll be joining us at an exciting time, as we're growing our communications and content team.
You will work with the Content Manager to plan and create exciting content that helps raise awareness of the value of the legal profession, and the work we do to support our members.
You'll be tasked with developing written and audio-visual content like case studies, feature pieces, and video interviews with solicitors.
A critical part of this role is to think audience-first. You'll build engagement with our members and a wider stakeholder and public audience by incorporating a storytelling approach to content where appropriate.
In many cases, this will require you being able to get to the heart of the real-life impact of an issue to create content with a clear 'hook'. You'll conduct interviews and research to identify the key elements of the story and use that information to create high quality and punchy content.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate experience of identifying and writing compelling stories that engage different audiences.
You'll need a good understanding of latest trends and best practice in both creating engaging communications for web and print.
You will need outstanding editing and proof-reading skills
To keep on top of deadlines, you will also need good planning, analytical and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
As a person, you will have strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly form positive relationships with colleagues.
What's in it for you
This is an excellent opportunity to work with contemporary thinkers in a progressive membership organisation. The successful candidate will join a strong brand with a reputation for excellence and legal expertise, committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and a culture of trust, excellence, clarity and respect.
We offer hybrid working, a generous flexible benefits package, a friendly working environment and the opportunity to develop your career within a professional organisation.
Please note: if you are an internal applicant, Pay Policy will apply.
The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales. From negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government and other decision makers, to offering training and advice, we're here to help, protect and promote solicitors.
