You will take responsibility for the vehicle/asset replacement programme for a leading utility company, Working closely with the customer base to understand its operations and agree a replacement asset/vehicle specification that meets the customers operational requirements. You will also manage the process of the build from initial specification, through quotation/ordering, quality assurance and final delivery.
As Contract Manager at Vehicle Lease & Service, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for advising and agreeing an asset specification that meets the customers operational and regulatory requirements safely.
- Relationship management with customer stakeholders, acknowledge within 24 hours and facilitate solutions.
- Building relationships with the key customer stakeholders to understand the operational requirements in order to supply the appropriate assets.
- Bringing customer and selected supplier stakeholders together to discuss operational requirements and appropriate solutions. Managing the build project from concept to asset completion.
- Selecting the appropriate asset based on customer requirements and supplier recommendations. Reviewing supplier provided stability/payload calculations to check the acceptable limits from available choice.
- Ordering all vehicles within timescales, in line with the replacement programme.
- Ensuring quotations are correct in all areas. Including, capital cost, asset options, discounts, plan, lease period, mileage, maintenance/tyres, residual value, asset type and RFL are all applied
- Ensuring specification document matches the fleet system for the selection of the correct schedule of legal maintenance events.
- Ensuring that all new assets are to be built following the correct category of Type Approval and ensure all relevant certification is received at the end of build. (Small Series, Whole Vehicle, or Individual Vehicle Approval).
- Ensuring asset specifications are fully developed including all maintenance events, payload, operational and safety aspects, and agreed
- Must have come from a fleet background OR demonstrable experience vehicles, plant, and equipment
- DVSA awareness
- A City & Guilds/NVQ in motor vehicle/plant repair or equivalent technical qualification/documented experience
- A full driving license
- Knowledge of construction and use regulations
- Health & Safety awareness
