Contract Paralegal

Morgan Hunt is currently working with a government department in their search for an interim Contract Paralegal or Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis at a time of increased activity. You will be reporting to the Senior Legal & Regulatory Affairs Officer and working alongside the team within a broader risk management framework.

The successful candidate will provide transactional and documentation support for diverse activities, including financial and commercial contracts, bond listings, and compliance matters. Additionally, they will be drafting contracts, conducting legal research, coordinating stakeholders, and contributing to process enhancement.

The ideal candidate will possess strong legal technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to work. While a background in financial markets or commercial contracts is preferred, exceptional individuals with diverse legal experience will be considered.

Location: Fenchurch Street, London (Hybrid 60% In-office)
Salary: £200 per day (PAYE) or £250 (Umbrella) Inside IR35
Job Type: 6 Month Contract
Clearance: SC Clearance required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide transactional and documentation support for various activities, including financial and commercial contracts, bond listing applications, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Contribute to the enhancement of legal and documentation processes and procedures.
• Offer ad-hoc support for other risk team activities, such as gilt and Treasury bill auctions and tenders.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting legal research, attending calls, managing action lists, conducting compliance checks, and coordinating stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

• Higher education degree in Law or related subject, or qualification to practice law in England & Wales.
• Excellent proficiency in English language.
• Strong legal technical and analytic skills, with experience in legal research and contract drafting.
• Ideally, a minimum of 2 year's experience in legal or paralegal roles within financial markets transactions or commercial contracts; however, exceptional candidates with other backgrounds will be considered.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels.
• Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to produce accurate documentation within tight deadlines.
