Requirement for a Contracts Manager to oversee a variety of projects, worth between £300,000 to £13 million, ensuring profitability and on-budget delivery of a one-of-a-kind product during a period of rapid growth and expansion for the business.
Situation
Ford & Stanley Recruitment are partnered with a nationwide construction contractor on their search for an additional Contracts Manager to join their team. Due to the bespoke and niche nature of their product, our client is winning new contracts and requires additional heads to ensure all projects are completed on-budget to facilitate further growth and expansion.
The successful candidate will be commercially astute and have previous experience with managing Contracts or within Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple jobs; up to 3-5 jobs on at any one time.
- Planning & programming projects.
- Working closely with the operations team and the commercial teams with regards to tendering.
- Liaising regularly with Commercial Manager.
- Reporting directly to the Construction Director and Operations Director.
- Oversee all the Project Managers and site staff.
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are up to company standard and are in place for all members of staff.
Location: Office in Derby + regional travel required.
Salary: Up to £85,000 + Car Allowance
Working Practice: 1 -2 days in the office, 3-4 days on site in various locations (such as Sheffield, Leeds, and Birmingham)
Agreed Criteria for candidates to secure interview
- Ideally someone with a minimum of 2-3 years of contract management experience or Senior Project Manager who is ready to step up.
- Candidate does not need any specific contract knowledge as the Quantity Surveyors will have the expertise.
- The right candidate will be able to build teams of gangs, cladders, and fitters all over the country and get them ready for jobs and costings.
- Formal qualifications, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid etc. (Desirable but not essential).
