Role: Contracts Manager – Part-time
Contract Length: Anticipated 12 months
Hours: Part-Time 22.5 hours per week 09.00 to 17.00
Location: Remote Working - Doncaster DN4 8QN. Free parking is available throughout the site. Must be able to collect equipment and attend induction
Pay Rate: £18.10 per hour PAYE
DBS required for this role TBC
OH Assessment required for this role

Summary:
The post holder will be responsible for contract negotiation, management and oversight and manage the process to deliver against the requirements of a portfolio of contracts with NHS England, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authorities and other commissioners or providers.
The postholder will be responsible for the management of the Trust’s processes with regard to legally binding contracts this may also include partnership agreements, service level agreements and memorandum of understanding for their delegated portfolio.
The postholder will co-ordinate the contract negotiation process with commissioners and our research team for their delegated portfolio.
The postholder will lead the development and management of the designated Trusts main commissioner contracts and the research team.
The postholder will provide specialist advice on mitigating and managing risk within contracts entered into by the Trust, minimising the Trust’s exposure to financial, clinical, reputational, performance and business risk .
The postholder will work in partnership with all parties to ensure that commissioners Service Development Implementation Plans (SDIPs) and workplans are delivered.
The postholder will provide proactive management and professional support to the contracts department.
The post holder will establish strong liaison with services to support clinical engagement and leadership in improving quality, efficiency and productivity.
The postholder may have line management responsibility for members of staff within the Contracting Department.
The post holder will ensure the production of accurate and timely reports on contracting to both internal and external stakeholders against standards and expectations
The post holder will be expected to effectively and openly engage and exchange information on their work with other colleagues in the Contracts, Performance and CQUIN team to promote joined up work and sharing of best practice across the Trust. The post holder will also assist and deputise, where appropriate, for the Head of Contracts, Performance and CQUIN.
Experience;
Proven significant experience in a contract management role
Experience of identifying and interpreting national policy
Proven experience of proactive contract management
Proven experience with drafting, agreeing and implementing contracts
Significant experience with Microsoft applications, in addition to electronic and manual data collection systems.
Proven experience of influencing people who are not directly line managed to act
Proven experience of producing and presenting reports to a range of audiences and tailoring communication techniques accordingly to ensure understanding.
Proven experience of line management of staff, including setting objectives, undertaking appraisals, managing conduct, performance and managing health and sickness issues.
Knowledge;
Specialist knowledge of NHS standard contract management and contractual requirements which includes the NHS Standard Contract
Knowledge of the NHS contractual commissioning process
Highly developed specialist knowledge of negotiating and drafting contract management documentation underpinned by experience
Skills;
Highly developed contract management skills which includes contract negotiation, contract management and monitoring.
Excellent IT skills, particularly in relation to creating, formatting, and manipulating word documents and spreadsheets
Excellent communication skills including the ability to present contractual information both verbally and in writing
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Ability to influence and negotiate with managers, clinicians, and key stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain good relationships
Ability to work either in a team or on own initiative
Able to work independently with minimal direction and supervision, within a set framework / boundary
Leadership and management skills
Demonstrates motivation and enthusiasm for the role
Able to work within and model the Trust’s values / and behaviours
Demonstrates personal responsibility and has the ability to prioritise and collaborate when appropriate
Innovative, with a desire to maximise opportunities for developing the efficiency and effectiveness of the individual, the team, the department, and the Trust
Able to face varying demands – frequently requiring intense concentration and effort to deliver multiple objectives / conflicting priorities
Reliable and flexible
Able to independently travel throughout Trust geographical locations
Qualifications;
Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent
