- Excellent work, progression opportunities and a work/life balance
About Our Client
A Birmingham city centre law firm
Job Description
Work/life balance. Great pipeline of Corporate work going into 2024. An approach that isn't fixated on chargeable/hours and targets.
These are probably not phrases that you would necessarily associate with the Corporate market at the moment.
But this firm is doing things differently and is in a great position as enter 2024.
This is a role within an established Corporate team that largely focus on the OMB market (with a slight emphasis on the seller side). They exceeded targets in 2023 and are recruiting due to growth and pipeline of work. They are very confident with the deals in the pipeline and therefore need to bolster the Corporate team.
There is a genuine work/life balance here (it's rare people are in the office past 630pm) and the management are more concerned about client delivery and quality of output than targets.
We're looking for a Corporate Solicitor who is perhaps frustrated at their current firm and wants to do something different rather than move to another large outfit.
What the firm can offer you:
- Excellent Corporate work - lots of M&A in the pipeline
- A lot of seller side work as well as some acquisitive clients
- Working alongside experienced Corporate Solicitors
- A great work/life balance without compromising on quality of work
- Progression opportunities (if this is something you are interested in)
- No need for a client following - although the team will fully support you if you have connections in the CF world and want to start growing your profile
- Birmingham city centre based
The Successful Applicant
The team are open minded on PQE and will consider qualified solicitors at all levels but realistically due to workloads they will the need you to have at least 2-3 years' M&A experience. This move could suit a Corporate Solicitor who is perhaps questioning whether they want to stay in private practice (or even the law) due to long hours and is wanting to stay within Corporate but work somewhere that does things differently.
The role won't suit somebody who wants to work in a very large international firm where they are a small number in a large team.
What's on Offer
Excellent work, clients, progression opportunities and work/life balance.
