Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established client in Newcastle who are looking for a Credit Control Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This role is a hybrid opportunity (3 days office-based, 2 remote)
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your duties will include:
- Providing leadership to the Credit Control Team, including ensuring all processes are appropriate and being adhered to.
- Maintaining the overall debt profile, understanding and directing the team to the priority areas to work on.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with customers and external parties on the phone or via e-mail.
- Regularly reviewing the email inbox to ensure that all emails are being dealt with appropriately.
- Checking resident discharges and letters.
- Working on the collection of complex older debts including the reconciliation of accounts.
- Acting as a point of query for the team to support with more complex issues.
- Preparing debtor reports and KPI reporting.
- Assisting in year end audit queries.
- Providing assistance and support to the Financial Controller and be prepared to contribute to the overall goals of the finance department.
You will have:
- Previous experience working in Credit Control essential and Care sector debt experience would be preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to organise your team effectively,
- The ability to ensure that the necessary processes and procedures are in place and operating correctly,
- Excellent communication and customer service skills,
- Good telephone manner and the ability to deal with difficult people on the phone, including an empathetic approach,
- Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail,
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and use own initiative,
- Confident working with numbers,
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate differences,
- Ability to work both as part of a team but also independently,
- IT literate and able to use Word and Excel proficiently,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
