We are looking for an individual to join the Criminal Justice Command as Criminal Justice Administrator, working in a small team with specific responsibility for remand courts on Saturdays and Bank Holidays (4hrs 0700-1100).
A team player with excellent communication skills you will carry out the processing of prosecution files in accordance with Criminal Justice policy; to ensure the progression of cases through the court process by means of timely and accurate case preparation. You will have a strong belief in serving the public and the ability to work in partnership with other agencies to deliver the best possible service to the community. You will have a strong work ethic, be resilient under pressure and have the ability to use your initiative to solve problems. You will have contact with both internal and external customers, specifically colleagues from the Crown Prosecution Service and HMCTS, and so you must be a confident communicator at all levels.
Hours of work are Saturdays and Bank Holidays 0700-1100. Saturday hours will attract time and a half and the Bank Holidays will be double time.
Current Essex Police staff can have more than one contract if they are for different roles, but two contracts together cannot total more than 37 hours per week.

Essex Police offer agile working which designates that certain roles can offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working. The specific requirements of this role will be discussed during the interview stages with candidates. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual's suitability for home working. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace, as agreed with the line manager.
Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £27,351.00.
