Customer / Sales Advisor

Our client is one of the leading independent waste management companies in Southern England, known for their industry knowledge and experience, as well as their commitment to providing quality services.

THE ROLE OF SALES ADVISOR

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced and professional Sales Advisor based at their Head Office in Fareham, Hampshire, who has the skills and competencies to successfully secure and process orders over the telephone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing a high level of customer service over the telephone
• Securing orders by converting calls into confirmed orders
• Upselling products/services wherever practicably possible
• Processing orders and bookings
• Taking payment details and processing payments
• Handling customer enquiries and queries
• Performing various general office administration duties
• Supporting other team members

THE IDEAL SALES ADVISOR

• Excellent telephone manner – remaining friendly, polite, and professional at all times.
• Great communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
• Very good attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information, e.g., correct address, postcode, contact name, contact numbers, and location details.
• Strong sales experience with knowledge and understanding of the sales process and upselling.
• Good organization skills, with the ability to use own initiative.
• Hardworking and conscientious.
• Positive, motivated, and proactive.
• Reliable, flexible, and adaptable.
• Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.
• Ability to work within a busy and fast-paced customer-focused sales environment.

REWARD

• Starting Salary: £27,000 p.a., increasing to £28,113 p.a. after a successful 6-month probation period
• 25 days holiday, increasing to 27 after 5 years of service, and 30 after 10 years of service

HOURS

Working hours are 9 hours each day, which includes a half-hour unpaid lunch break, on varying shift patterns between 7.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm on a rota basis (usually one in nine).

Pay: £27,000.00-£28,100.00 per year
