Main Responsibilities:
- Providing a central contact point for internal customers, supplier/partners and sharing information to enable others to fulfil their role and build their understanding of customs targets and objectives.
- Validating data for customs declarations and checking import assessment notes.
- Preparing and processing import customs declarations (free circulation, transit, special procedures) ensuring all shipments meet applicable laws and procedures to facilitate the timely and cost effective import of goods.
- Corresponding with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers and HMRC ensuring goods are cleared through customs and on to their final destinations.
- Requesting and compiling necessary import documentation such as customs invoices, Certificates of Origins and cargo control documents.
- Maintaining supplier declarations and origins of parts.
- Classifying goods according to the tariff coding system and determining custom tariff numbers.
- Issuing preferential documents such as T1, EUR1 and ATR.
- Deal with a variety of commodities for all shipments.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of tariffs and Incoterms.
- Knowledge of Baan.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build good working relationship with customers and colleagues.
- Deal with all queries quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel for training.
- Passport and full driving licence essential.
Training will be provided where required and this may involve travelling in the UK and abroad.
Hours – 40 hours with flexi time. Monday – Thursday 7am – 4.15pm, Friday 7am – 12.00pm
