Description
The Data Analyst reports into the Business Intelligence Analyst. The purpose of this role is to work across a variety of departments delivering data and actionable insight that helps to improve company performance.
Your main duties will be:

  • To create relationships with key stakeholders across all departments and provide them with valuable insight as to how their department is performing.
  • Collate data for reports and dashboards based on the business needs utilising different platforms of data. (Operator platforms, Google Analytics, Google DataStudio, Sports and betting stats sites etc.)
  • Help provide in-depth reporting and analysis across a variety of KPIs for internal stakeholders and external third parties.
  • Help create and implement models and simulations, and support with up-to-date data.
  • Help support stakeholders with any ad-hoc analysis that may be required
  • Help develop tools and processes that improve insight and analytical capabilities of the business.
  • Verify data and reports to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • When required liaise with third parties with regards to reporting and data issues.
Essential experience and skills required:
  • A passion for sport and the numbers around it
  • An appetite to develop knowledge of business intelligence methods and tools.
  • A passion for Sports betting and online betting industry.
  • Exposure to range data analysis tools and platforms, SQL, JIRA, MS suite, Google suite, Google DataStudio, Google Analytics, Cubes, Ad Platforms (eg GoogleAdWords, Bing, Facebook Ads).
  • Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Application of data to areas such as campaign analysis & predictive modelling.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, a logical approach, and the ability to identify and question anomalies.
  • Ability to work both alone and as a team.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to non-technical business stakeholders, both in written and oral format.
Entry requirements
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good A levels (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Sciences or Economics.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work independently at a fast pace whilst demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Experience and confidence using Microsoft packages such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Theoretical knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Any working experience would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language e.g. SAS, Python, R.
  • Previous experience in a commercial/business environment.
Training to be provided
You will undertake the ground breaking Apprentify Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship.
We have designed our programme to offer you a distinct route into your career path and specialise in areas such as Data Architecture, collecting and cleansing data, produce performance dashboards and reports .
During the 15 months of training, you will learn cutting edge theory and industry practice across 11 carefully structured Modules covering the duties that are required as a Data Analyst:
  • Identify data sources to meet the organisation's requirement, using evidence-based decision making to establish a rationale for inclusion and exclusion of various data sets and models
  • Liaise with the client and/or colleagues from other areas of the organisation to establish reporting needs and deliver accurate information
  • Collect, compile and, if needed, cleanse data, such as sales figures, Digital Twins etc. solving any problems that arise, to/from a range of internal and external systems.
  • Produce performance dashboards and reports in the Visualisation and Model Building Phase
  • Support the business by maintaining and developing reports for analysis to aid with decisions, and adhering to organisational policy/legislation
  • Produce a range of standard and nonstandard statistical and data analysis reports in the Model Building phase
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
  • Draw conclusions/Recommend appropriate response/Offer Guidance/Interpretation
  • Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders, making recommendations
  • Provide regular reports & analysis to different management/leadership teams, ensuring data is used and represented ethically in line with relevant legislation (e.g. GDPR, which incorporates Privacy by Design).
  • Ensure data is appropriately stored and archived, in line with relevant legislation e.g. GDPR
  • Practice continuous self-learning to keep up to date with technological developments to enhance relevant skills and take responsibility for own professional development
