JOB TITLE: Data Culture & Capability, Senior Manager
SALARY: £80,206 - £94,360
LOCATION: Leeds, Edinburgh or Bristol
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our three office sites - Leeds, Edinburgh or Bristol.
About this opportunity
We're looking for an experienced data leader to help us modernise to deliver great and innovative solutions to customers, making sure our data is well managed, accurate and trusted, building the foundation for AI and future technology applications. You will play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture across IP&I whilst driving high quality data initiatives. You will be drawing upon your technical expertise, being open minded and leverage the opportunities the cloud provides.
  • You will develop and own the Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) Data Culture and Capability Strategy, ensuring alignment with and contribute to the Group Data Culture Strategy and wider Data Strategy.
  • Build and continually develop IP&I’s Data & Analytics Capability, contributing to LBG to become the most Data literate bank in the world by ensuring access and opportunity for every IP&I colleague to uplift their Data capabilities and make insight led decisions.
  • Drive an observable skills-based capability uplift, creating richer colleague experiences and prioritising learning in the flow of work.
  • Work with the Strategy teams to execute against and take ownership for the delivery of IP&I Strategic Workforce Plan.
  • Drive a measurable uplift in Data Culture across each of IP&I Business areas and platform teams, demonstrating impact on the BU and Group Data Culture maturity.
  • Collaboratively working with colleagues and senior leaders from different areas across IP&I and Group in order to understand and provide value and insight for our customers. You will be representing IP&I and ensuring alignment to both IP&I and Group policies.
  • Understand the Business and able to communicate complex messaging to senior management, especially visually and through “telling the story” in a compelling way.

What you’ll need
As well as bringing an understanding of data and analytics, you will also need a strong focus on developing people and culture. In addition, you’ll bring experience in:
  • Hands-on proven experience in leading, developing and driving Data Culture & Capability Strategies, frameworks and initiatives aligned to business goals.
  • Leading the development and execution of initiatives and training to uplift Data Capability.
  • Driving and overseeing programmes and activities to enhance Data literacy and learning for non-Data practitioners at all levels of the organisation.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of driving engagement through dedicated communities, communications and events.
  • Have an active interest in new and emerging tools and technologies and an awareness of industry trends and best practice in the Data Culture space.
  • Technical background and knowledge of data engineering, analytics, and Cloud (GCP ideally) technologies.
  • Experience of leading, driving and presenting at Governance Forums and Committees.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and story-telling skills.
  • Project planning / change management experience.
  • Previous experience of leading high performing teams.
