We are searching for a data professional to drive improvement and value across Finance.
As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering great data practice across the the Finance Function.
You will be passionate about how improved Data Governance can drive value and help us meet our strategic goals and will have real drive for delivering business value and getting the best out of others and using your own initiative to keep pace with the latest technology & trends.
As well as superb interpersonal skills you will also possess the ability to tailor communication to different audiences and be a natural at building credibility with stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need to engage the function and bring them along on this journey as we ask them to implement and undertake Data Governance in line with Society requirements.
This is a new role in the Future Capability and Operations team within Finance and you will be part of a collaborative team, using your skills and knowledge to drive a culture of efficient, value adding, Data Governance.

For this role you will be based in our offices in Swindon or London twice a week with travel to Swindon twice a month if you're London based.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for delivering good Data Governance practice across Finance. To deliver great Data Governance practices across Finance you will need to help people across the organisation realise why Data Governance is important and how improving visibility of Data Governance benefits our customer and business outcomes.
As part of this role, you will work closely with out central Data Governance colleagues to influence, develop, and drive, the roadmap for good Data Governance in Finance.
We need you to drive business value from Data Governance, ensuring this is well communicated and aligned with strategic business priorities.
You will understand key priorities and risks, helping the business understand where improved Data Governance can help them achieve these.
Additionally, you will work closely with colleagues to exploit our strategic Data Governance tool (Collibra) to improve the effectiveness, and efficiency, of good Data Governance.
About you
You will be a data minded individual who can speak to data and business people alike to help them understand what Data Governance means for them, and how it can add value for the Society and our Customers.
You will have…
- Data governance expertise – knowledge of Data Governance frameworks, and industry best practice.
- Experience of regular engagement with internal and external parties/experts, to help drive best practice.
- The ability to use this experience to drive value and build/articulate value cases to the wider finance function.
- Ability to partner with senior stakeholders within the business delivery relevant content whilst keeping the business engaged.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience using Collibra, or other Data Governance tooling.
