We are looking to appoint to this newly created Data Protection and Information Governance Officer role and require someone with a strong professional knowledge of Data Protection, FOI legislation that will work closely with and support the Information Governance Manager and the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and will be a named Deputy DPO. The successful candidate will have a professional, pragmatic and authoritative approach to assist the DPO develop and implement the activities and controls needed to ensure information security and Data Protection legislation compliance. With excellent communication skills, the successful candidate will have experience of tailoring and delivering training to a variety of audiences and will have previous experience of supporting the delivery of a successful Data Protection improvement programme and take responsibility for maintaining and developing detailed and expert knowledge of current Data Protection legislation and be able to clearly communicate rationale and justification when providing advice and assistance.
Experience of working in a dedicated Data Protection role within a public sector body is desirable, but not essential as the successful candidate will be supported through any necessary training.
