An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Data Quality Officer, Athena. This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to work as part of a small team to interrogate data from within Athena (Record Management System) for accuracy and quality assurance.

 

You will be required to utilise multiple data sources and have a keen eye for detail to determine the legitimacy of information. You will rectify errors, to ensure police officers and staff act upon accurate information during the execution of their duties.   

 

You will be required to identify and highlight areas of non-compliance with data standards, providing feedback to staff of all ranks. Therefore, good communication and interpersonal skills are required.

 

You will work closely in support of Information Security to ensure that data protection breaches and data integrity failures are reported and managed. Due to this, an understanding of data protection and MoPI is desirable.

 

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate using logical and analytical approaches to problem solving. You should demonstrate a sense of ownership and responsibility and have strong written communication skills. You should be able to evidence examples where you have critically analysed data across numerous databases or sources of information. While an understanding of Athena and other Policing systems is desirable, training will be given.

Kent Police offer smarter working which designates that certain roles can have flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to.

The specific requirements of this role will be discussed during the interview stages with candidates. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a contractual workplace, as agreed with the line manager.

 

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £29,073.00.

Note for potential candidates - It is currently proposed that the Kent Police, Headquarters site is re-locating back to Sutton Road Maidstone. As part of the relocation members of staff currently working at the current Headquarters in Northfleet may be redeployed to other workplaces and/or required to work in a more agile way. All new staff appointed to roles currently based at Kent Police, Northfleet after 12th June 2023 and before the move of the site will be accepting the contract knowing that their workplace could change. They will not be eligible to claim for any additional ‘home to work’ mileage costs or additional public transport costs incurred from the requirement to travel their new contractual workplace. The only exceptions to this will be for existing internal staff where the new role is a promotional opportunity or a move internally with the Kent Police, Northfleet site (i.e. from one role based at that site to another role based at that site).
