About the Role
Delivery Strategy Manager - Warwick (hybrid working)
You will be accountable for the Delivery Strategy for new and existing projects within Strategic Infrastructure (SI). Taking a portfolio view of current and future needs to ensure our project delivery is aligned with our wider strategic goals.
The Delivery Strategy will encompass all requirements relating to project development, be that procurement, system access, people and resources etc. This will require workin closely with Project Directors and other key stakeholders to ensure the Delivery Strategy is underpinned by business wide expertise.
This role also has accountability for the SI digital workbook, which is a wealth of information to allow the SI portfolio to provide CEO level briefings whilst also provide insight and intelligence to allow us to deliver our projects better
What you'll be getting up to
- Development of delivery strategies for Strategic Infrastructure projects which include identification of risks, mitigations, and opportunities to add value from several workstreams:
- Project dependencies and interactions
- System access and outage planning
- Supply chain, procurement, and the latest market insights
- Societal value
- Workforce
- Digital and visualisations
- Effective communication of Delivery Strategy insights to project directors and other key internal stakeholders.
- Leading, managing, and developing a team to ensure proactive and timely delivery of each Delivery Strategy workstream and the development and management of Strategic Infrastructures workbook.
- Development and management of Strategic Infrastructures workbook to provide Exec level updates across Strategic Infrastructures portfolio and identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
- Improve ways of working through digitalisation and visualisation to aid strategic decision making and efficiency.
- Develop and build relationships internally and externally to continuously improve delivery strategies through innovation and learnings on new technologies and ways of working.
About You
- Knowledge of Electricity Transmission and/or construction
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chains
- Strong problem solving ability. Able to Identify problems and challenges, analyse root causes and identify, test and implement appropriate solutions
- Experience in developing strategies
- Good understanding of regulatory and legal environment and how it impacts National Grid, its customers, stakeholders across all geographies
- Strategic thinking
