If so, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Chief Finance Officer to join our team.
The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is a highly successful Multi Academy Trust encompassing 6 secondary schools, 14 primary schools, 1 alternative provision school, Teaching School, and SCITT. Our schools are based in North Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield, North Warwickshire, and Coventry. We take pride in that our academies are quite distinctive and separate schools, serving different communities and phases but all either are, or have the capacity to become, outstanding
This is an exciting time to join the ATLP. We are redefining classroom practice through our Learning Futures 1:1 device initiative and developing more comprehensive support around our most vulnerable children while welcoming a further three schools into our partnership.
Salary: Salary within a band £70,000 to £80,000 depending on experience
Hours: 37.50 hours per week all year round
Location: The role will be based at Arthur Terry School, Kittoe Road, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, B74 4RZ, though hybrid working is encouraged
Start Date: Required for April 2024 with acknowledgement that notice periods may alter this start date.
What you will need to succeed
As a key member of the wider executive team, the Deputy Chief Finance Officer will play an important part in setting the direction of strategic development of The Trust, in addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations across all schools.
You will have a successful track record of leadership and management of all aspects of finance. You will be commercially astute and have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions based on accurate and appropriate analysis. This will include regular reporting to the Trust Board and other Committees through the production of high quality reports to enable them to make informed decisions.
Knowledge of the education sector and the statutory requirements in a multi-academy setting are key requirements for the role.
The successful candidate will
Be a professional, highly motivated individual, with excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills, able to communicate, build relationships and network effectively with all stakeholders at all levels. Be fully conversant in all aspects of The Academies Trust Handbook. Be able to give strategic direction to a large team of finance managers. Be resilient, flexible, and able to demonstrate an ability to work well in a very busy environment, remaining calm under pressure. Be committed to delivering consistently high standards. Be methodical, well organised and display an appropriate level of confidentiality, child protection, data protections and security awareness. Have excellent ICT and numeracy skills. Be able to demonstrate previous success at delivering a first-class finance service. Be able to work both on own initiative and be a team player. Be able to deliver presentations with confidence and clarity to a wide audience of non-finance professionals. Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative working through coaching and mentoring.
