Deputy Manager (E3327) - Little Gems Nursery

Little Gems Early Years Nursery is currently seeking to recruit a Deputy Manager. The ideal candidate must have a minimum qualification of childcare level 3 with 2 years of work experience. This is a full-time post based in the heart of a diverse community.

We require extremely reliable and flexible member of staff' who is willingly to enhance their selves and bring their own set of ideas and knowledge that you would have acquired in your previous experiences.

This post will require 50/50 super numeracy working mainly on the floor during term time. During half term you will be given the opportunity to be more office based leading management. The post is 51 weeks a year.

What we are looking for?

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in early years education and childcare (e.g. Preschool Learning Alliance Diploma in Pre-school Practice, NVQ 3 or equivalent) and a commitment to obtaining further qualifications as appropriate.
• Current working experience of the childcare and early education sector.
• A sound understanding of child development and children’s needs.
•  The ability to carry out observations to a high standard and in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• An ability to engage with parents in respect of their child’s development.
• Good customer awareness.
• Commitment to equal opportunities.
• Commitment to young children and families.
• Friendly, flexible approach.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and on own initiative.
• Conversant with current legislation relevant to the Early Years
• Previous supervision experience
• Peer on peer observations
• Carrying out 1-2-1 appraisals
• Previous exposure to leading a room
