About the role:
We're looking for a Front-End Software Engineer to work on LBG’s Design System in a multi-disciplinary agile team. The candidate will be working closely with designers to produce, document, maintain, and enhance React UI components with the highest attention to detail.
As a Design System Developer, your key accountabilities, responsibilities & deliverables will be:
- Prototyping and development of reusable web components with a strong focus on Accessibility, usability and multi-brand theming
- Maintaining our colleague-facing documentation website
- Passion for technology and writing clean, maintainable & performant code
- Writing test scripts, code reviews and technical documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of shared code libraries and collaborate with other technology teams
- Contribute to design of features
- Participate in the agile process to produce rapid delivery of customer features
- Understand and apply industry best practices, foster knowledge sharing to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist, and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate
- Regularly support engineers across LBG, providing clear and constructive feedback and building opportunities for learning and growth.
- Focus on delivering business value through sound engineering methods and principles
Must have skills:
- JavaScript (es6/es7)
- React
- HTML/CSS
- Eye for design/UX and passionate about improving customer experience
- AA WCAG Accessibility
Desirable skills:
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- Jest/Enzyme
- Previous experience of working on Design Systems
- CI/CD
