This Digital Communications Manager will report to the Head of Communications, Media and Engagement and will work within the Human Resources directorate based in our London office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a great compensation package depending on experience and a bonus of 10%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job purpose
UK Power Networks is looking for a motivated Digital Communications Manager to lead a newly created digital team, formed to ensure that UK Power Networks embraces and utilises the benefits and opportunity that can be drawn from a more digitalised approach to communication, for customers and partners in 2024 and beyond.
Principal responsibilities
Website Management: You will oversee UK Power Networks website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and optimised for SEO, with a focus on providing information about our power cut and connections services. You will considered the 'product owner' of the website for UK Power Networks.
Social Media Management: Manage the organisation's presence on social media platforms, including content scheduling, community engagement, and monitoring for trends and conversations related to the sector.
Content Creation and Management: Manage high-quality content for multiple digital channels, including websites, social media, blogs, and email campaigns, ensuring it is engaging, on-brand, and relevant.
Incident Communication: You will develop and implement crisis communication plans for digital channels, including 24/7 rapid response strategies, to address any power distribution issues or emergencies.
Analytics and Reporting: Use digital analytics tools to track and analyse the performance of digital communication efforts, providing regular reports and insights to improve strategies for UK Power Networks. Define and track measurements to evaluate the success of digital communication efforts and make data-driven improvements for UKPN's electricity distribution network.
Online Reputation Management: You will monitor online mentions and reviews, responding to feedback and work with the media team to manage the online reputation of UK Power Networks.
Digital Advertising: Plan and execute campaigns, including social media ads, to increase visibility and reach target audiences interested in UK Power Networks priority services or incidents affecting the network / DSO / Innovation products / public safety
Collaboration and Coordination: Ensure cohesive and consistent experiences and messaging across all digital channels.
Compliance and Data Protection: Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and maintain data privacy and security in all Digital Communications related to our services.
Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital communication to keep UK Power Networks competitive in the energy sector.
Training and Development: Mentor team members on digital communication best practices and tools, tailored to UK Power Networks specific needs.

Experience
- Experience in a similar digital / communications role
- Managerial experience leading a communications team

- A digital / communications / marketing / media qualification to degree level is preferred
