Their digital department is growing and is at the forefront of broadcast and VOD mastering, conforming, and delivery to premier international platforms and broadcasters. As a Digital Technician based in West London, you'll play a pivotal role in processing jobs using industry-standard equipment and our client’s internal system.
Responsibilities include mastering, encoding, and conforming files to client specifications, along with basic confirming and asset re-versioning. Knowledge of 4K (UHD), HDR, and IMF is a plus.
Key responsibilities
- Conforming content adhering to platform specifications – Amazon Global/Classic, iTunes, Netflix etc.
- Edit/prep material confirming to broadcast guidelines.
- Good knowledge and understanding in digital media workflows including tools such as Adobe Suite, DaVinci, Resolve, Clipster, Cortex.
- Mac Captions and Annotation Edit experience would be advantageous.
- Must understand subtitling specifications and formats, audio samples, rates, video frame rates, SMPTE timecode, and traditional multichannel audio configurations (2.0, 5.1, 7.1) is necessary.
- Video and audio pre-qualifications, media prep, QCs, and deliverables.
- Attention to detail and a perfectionist mindset is key in this role.
- Abide by security policies and protect information assets entrusted to you.
Person specifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience and understanding of video compression and the various codecs used by broadcasters and VOD platforms.
- Passionate about customer experience and customer service excellence.
- Hands-on experience with digital media workflows is required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to prioritize your workload, and the capability to collaborate with and assist other team members.
- Problem solver with a creative and innovative approach with the ability to think outside the box.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to plan complex projects with urgency.
- A positive attitude when experiencing obstacles and enthusiasm to get things done.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (AM, PM, Weekends).
- Dedicated Night shift operators required so if candidates prefer night shift that is advantageous.
