Charity People have partnered with LionHeart, the charity which supports Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) professionals and their families through challenging times. Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key player in the senior leadership team working closely with the Board of Trustees and its sub-committees to ensure that LionHeart fulfils its legal and statutory financial and governance requirements.
The ideal candidate will be experienced working at a senior level and comfortable working strategically as well as hands-on as required. As part of a small senior leadership team, you will take shared responsibility for delivery of the strategy set by the board and you will also work closely with your team, including managing the Finance Manager and IT Manager.
The Director of Finance and Resources role is offering a salary of up to £65,000 per annum. This is a hybrid role, where you will be office-based (Birmingham) one to two days per week depending on business need.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development of annual financial, budget and operational plans.
- Develop financial strategy in line with the strategic plan to ensure the financial stability and sustainability of the organisation.
- Ensure an appropriate risk management framework is in place.
- Ensure appropriate integration between the finance function and income generation teams.
- Execute effective management of LionHeart's cash flow and investments in line with agreed policy.
- Lead delivery against agreed financial plans and budgets to ensure managers have systems and processes to follow to facilitate budget management, value for money and contractual effectiveness.
- Provide senior leadership and direction to the Finance and Resources Team.
- Ensure that the financial reporting, analysis, systems and controls and other financial records meet the evolving needs of the charity.
- Provide information and analysis to the CEO and Board.
- Manage the Finance and Resources team.
Candidates applying for this role must have the following:
- Strong understanding of charity governance and Charity Commission requirements
- A recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
- Experience of working in the charity sector with a good understanding of the charities SORP.
- Senior level financial leadership and operational management experience
- Experience preparing and presenting financial and management accounts and reports.
- Empathy with and commitment to LionHeart's mission and values.
