The Meals Solutions division of 2 Sisters Food Group is seeking an experienced and adaptable Technical Controller to lead our established divisional team.

About The Role:
Reporting into the Technical and Sustainability Director, the Divisional Technical Controller will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the technical strategy for the entire Meals division.
Directly supporting five sites, the Technical Controller will be tasked with ensuring that technical standards, procedures, and processes are in place to meet critical business requirements, and that these initiatives are compliant with both industry, legislative and customer needs.
This will be a diverse role and will involve additional duties such as overseeing hygiene, food handling processes, advising on nutritional, food quality and packaging regulations, and liaising with customers on any quality matters or concerns.
Working closely with the technical teams across the business, the Technical Controller will be a key leader in:
- Supporting customer initiatives.
- Proactive Raw Material management.
- Promoting a disciplined approach to CAPA across all sites.
- Supporting the partnership between group subject matter experts and the division.
- Leading SUSSLE activities and shelf-life maximisation projects.
- Promoting data-based insights to proactive problem solving.
- Driving Site standards through focused site reviews/systems maturity modelling.
- Overseeing the relationship with raw material managers and championing shared learnings whilst ensuring appropriate supplier visits to drive performance.
- Coordinating export activities across the division including support on tax declarations.
- Managing KPI reporting activities across division and driving action to achieve and exceed targets.
- Deputising for the Technical Director in his absence.
This will be a hybrid mobile position requiring frequent travel to sites across the division.
About You:
To excel in this Divisional Technical Controller role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous Senior Technical Management experience within Food Manufacturing.
- In depth knowledge of short shelf life and chilled Food Manufacturing.
- A strong understanding of major retailers’ codes of practice, guidelines, and general food law.
- Detailed understanding of BRC Global Food Manufacturing Standards.
- Listeria/General microbiology knowledge
- Demonstrable experience of working with third-party standards for chilled food manufacture.
- A Food Science or Technology Degree.
- Level 4 Food Safety & HACCP.
