Our group studies the mechanisms of immune cell activation and recruitment in mouse models of inflammation. Further focus is placed on the interaction of immune cells with bacterial components and inflammatory mediators. These studies will utilize various techniques in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and biochemistry, including intravital microscopy studies in mice, flow cytometry, flow chamber assays, immunofluorescence microscopy, protein-protein interaction, retroviral transfection of bone marrow cells, rtPCR, sequencing and generation of bone marrow chimeras.
Your profile:
- Interest and fundamental knowledge in infection biology, biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Cell Biology
- Ideally you have profound knowledge and skills in bioinformatics
- Enthusiasm and passion for doing and understanding science
- Above average Master's degree in a related subject
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills
- Experience in and / or willingness to perform experimental animal studies
- Good self-organization and team working abilities
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- German language skills would be advantageous but are not a requirement
