Domestic Abuse Officer
£32,076 - £34,834 per annum
37 hours per week
Permanent Post
We are looking for someone with an extensive knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation ideally with a background in Domestic Abuse services and or related fields.
If you are able to demonstrate empathy for those who are vulnerable in difficult situations and deal confidently with individuals who have complex needs.
Then this could be the role for you most importantly we’re looking for the right person who can demonstrate resilience with compassion and excellent decision-making skills.
You will be working in a busy, challenging environment dealing with sensitive and personal circumstances, however your organised methodical approach to your work, will ensure that you can effectively manage your workload.
As an accomplished communicator you will be able to deal with vulnerable people in difficult situations and deal confidently with individuals who may have complex needs.
You will work within the councils housing needs and homelessness service, working closely with survivors of Domestic Abuse. You will assess their needs and provide sound advice, support, and signposting in accordance with the appropriate legislation You will hold a caseload that will be made up of people who have approached Warwick District Council for housing assistance, advising on civil and legal remedies as well as housing rights.
In addition to holding a caseload you represent Warwick District Council at MARAC and be the councils point of contact regarding Domestic Abuse for Warwickshire police and other related partner agencies.
Once in post, the team will support you with a variety of personal development and training opportunities.
The role will involve home working, working from the office and travel within the district as required.
