Driver Apprentice

Do you want to be a driver within Booths?  Are you looking for a change in career?  Then our Driver Academy Programme could be for you!

We have 1 place on our new Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver C+E Level 2 Apprenticeship Programme for colleagues looking to change roles and learn something new. This apprenticeship is a 38.75 hours per week position, paying £11.50 per hour, and includes a blend of practical work and online theory classes.

The programme is due to commence on 1st July and is expected to take 13 months, concluding with an assessment. During the programme and once qualified you would be working driver shifts which typically start at 5am or 2pm and are for 8 or 10 hours, therefore flexibility is a must in this role.

The successful candidate will have a supportive mentor who’ll help them with their progress, and a tutor from SP Training who will support them to complete their apprenticeship.

On completion you will receive the following: 

• Level 2 LGV Driver C+E Apprenticeship
• Cat C+E, Artic Licence
• 35 hours of JAUPT accredited CPC hours
• A Qualified Booths Drivers position paying £15.80

To be eligible to commence the programme you must meet the below criteria:

• Hold a current standard driving license with no points and 2 years’ worth of car driving experience

• Be 18 years of age or over

• Pass a medical assessment prior to appointment

• Have a level 1 Maths and English (equivalent to grade D GCSE). If you do not already hold the required grades, you will be assessed and invited to complete the qualification alongside your apprenticeship 

• Be committed to completing a formal training program
