Job Responsibilities
- Key retail sales person, aiding customers with product advice and installation recommendations for wall and floor coverings, including tiles.
- Kitchens and Bathroom project lead taker, engaging customers on the shop floor to introduce them to products and brands that we sell with confidence, with the aim of arranging a home visit for the project team to survey and discuss the home improvement project required.
- Raising Purchase Orders on suppliers to fulfil customer and stock requirements.
- Receiving supplier deliveries and allocating products to customer orders and stock.
- Maintaining stock records and flagging up when key products require reordering.
- Delivering customer orders.
- Actively maintain, clean and develop the kitchen, bathroom and tile displays in accordance with the business requirements.
Person profile
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years of retail experience, preferably within the buildings or DIY industry. You will have an outgoing nature and be able to read the customer in front of you so that you can adjust your engagement and delivery method(s) to make the customer feel welcome and valued; you must have a good command of English, both spoken and written. You must have accurate numeracy skills, particularly being able to understand and calculate areas and relate them to quantities. You will be well organised with your time and present yourself well, with strong ethics and integrity. You must be willing to work in a small team and take your fair share of the workload. You will have a full driving licence with no convictions. You must be able to lift 25 kilos dead weight and be able to carry it safely at least 15m.
Working Hours
You will work a 2 week work schedule.
Week 1: 09.00-17.00, Monday to Friday and 09.00-13.00, Saturday (5.5 days).
Week 2: 09.00-17.00, Monday to Friday and 09.00-13.00, Saturday, but not working either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (day to be agreed) (4.5 days).
No Sunday working ever; no Bank Holiday weekend working at present. We close between Christmas and New Year.
25 days holiday and statutory Bank Holiday days, plus 4 days paid sick leave.
Training
Product and skills training will be provided as necessary.

Pay: £11.87-£13.36 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 42.75 per week
