We are looking for a passionate, friendly and hard-working Room Leader to join our nursery team based at Chestnut Nursery School Arden House
.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, following a shift pattern. Chesterton is open between the hours of 08:00 - 18:30.
The successful applicant will need to be able to lead a team, have understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) and have a strong passion for a child-centred approach to play and learning. As a Lead Childcare Practitioner you are a key member of the nursery team, working closely with the families who access the nursery and being responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality care and learning opportunities.
Key Duties
- Being a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS.
- Promoting and supporting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues.
- Take necessary steps to safeguard all who access the setting, adhering to the safeguarding policy.
- Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Flexible in working hours if required.
- Support daily routines.
- Follow policies and procedures.
- Leading team members.
- Light cleaning duties.
- Maintain a high level of supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Position RequirementsRequired
- DBS will be undertaken.
- Child-centred approach to play and learning.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS).
- Excellent organisation skills and time-management.
- Qualified Level 3.
- Knowledge & understanding of safeguarding (training provided).
