Part of the Firm’s regulatory strategy is to maintain its commitment to a strong control environment and a culture of excellence with regard to regulatory delivery. The EMEA Programme Governance Team (EPG) is charged with ensuring regulatory remediation activities and key strategic programmes deliver to the standards of quality and timeliness expected by Firm Management, Divisional Management and our regulators.
EPG consists of two core functions:
- Programme Portfolio Management, which provides portfolio level oversight over the delivery of key strategic and regulatory programmes, and sets the bar for project management standards in the region
- Programme Delivery, which manages the execution of key Firm wide programmes on behalf of Firm Management
EPG is hiring an experienced individual based in London to support the team’s portfolio management and oversight goals and to expand on project management and business analysis capabilities.
The position reports to the Head of EPG and falls within the office of the EMEA Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

What will you be doing?
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Portfolio Management
Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables to Firm Management and the regulators through:
- Developing an understanding of the programmes on the portfolio to enable effective oversight
- Leading portfolio review and challenge processes, and production of management information to key internal and external stakeholders, including Board, Operating and Management Committees, other Senior Management fora, and the regulators
- Providing leadership in building out the operating model and tools to enhance portfolio management, including forward planning, prioritisation, managing cross-dependencies and resourcing
- Leading the improvement of project management standards across the portfolio through the development and rollout of a “best practice” project delivery toolkit
Programme/Project management and business analysis
Providing programme/project management and business analysis expertise to support strategic and/or regulatory driven, cross organisational projects. This may include collaborating with divisional Project Managers, domain experts and other stakeholders in:
- Providing thought leadership and business analysis at the problem definition and scoping stage
- Supporting project mobilisation, structuring and governance
- Providing project management leadership and/or support to drive the project forward
- Identifying milestones and inter-dependencies and building out project plans and critical path
- Identifying risks and issues and supporting resolution
- Tracking delivery against the plan and providing project status reporting
- Supporting ongoing project governance; for example preparing documentation for, and assisting with driving governance meetings
You will collaborate with divisional Project Managers and domain experts from across the Firm, including Firm Management, Sales and Trading, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Human Resources and Corporate Services.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrable experience of working on complex programmes in the financial services industry at a cross-divisional level, for example regulatory change programmes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw conclusions from large amounts of information
- The ability to work in a consultative and analytic capacity, to resolve issues in a collaborative manner
- Knowledge and understanding of the structure and organisation of a large, multi-national banking organisation and demonstrated ability to work with all levels in the organisation
- Proven ability to navigate in complex and ambiguous situations in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations while maintaining a tenacious commitment to quality and accuracy
- Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently and prioritise required daily activities and deliverables
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience in portfolio governance and oversight would be highly desirable
- Project consultancy experience at a big four consultancy is desirable
- Degree educated or equivalent, Project Management qualification highly desirable
- Excellent MS PowerPoint, MS Excel skills, MS Project and SharePoint skills
