Your work with us

When you join us in one of these roles you’ll be a member of our Products and Sectors Regulation Team, and work on Product Regulation – Eco Design or Energy Supply with a focus on Public Charge Points or Electric Vehicle Smart Charge. If your application is successful, we’ll ask you to indicate which role and location you’d prefer.

Join the Product Regulation – Eco-Design team and you’ll ensure that products meet energy efficiency criteria and accompanying labels are accurate. Providing guidance on legal requirements, responding to enquiries, testing products, reviewing technical documents, and taking corrective action related to deficiencies, you’ll also conduct criminal investigations into any offences you identify. The team covers a wide range of areas including Outdoor Noise, Legal Metrology, Lifts, Large Domestic Appliances and Product Internet Security.

The Energy Supply Team enforces environmental and energy efficiency regulations covering electric vehicle charge points, alternative fuel labelling and heat networks. Join us as an Enforcement Team Leader with a focus on Public Charge Points and you’ll support businesses, assessing and increasing the compliance of public charge points, and taking appropriate enforcement action. The Electric Vehicle Smart Charge role will undertake similar responsibilities, but with a focus on home and workplace charge points. A key requirement for both these roles will be to communicate regulations to stakeholders, encourage compliance, and manage a programme of market surveillance.

Who we’re looking for

Flexible, ambitious and energetic, and committed to the idea of positive change, you’ll be a natural problem-solver with great analytical skills and attention to detail. Capable of scoping, organising and guiding the delivery of results-oriented, multi-faceted work plans, you’ll take a proactive approach to setting clear priorities in a changing environment. A superb communicator with confident interpersonal skills, you’ll have the ability to research, understand and apply technical information, prioritising data to assist in understanding its relevance to an investigation.

Dedicated to developing yourself and the colleagues you lead, and committed to supporting the success of your team and our organisation, you should have a Level 4 qualification or possess equivalent knowledge and experience in an investigatory role in regulation, enforcement or compliance. You should also hold a full, valid UK driving licence, but if you do not hold one because of a protected characteristic, please speak to the recruitment manager and this will be taken into consideration.
