This Service is within the Place Department, under the responsibility of the Director of Environment and Communities and is based at the Civic Centre in Enfield Town.
About the role:
The Business & Technical Support Team currently consists of nine staff who are located in the Civic Centre and working from home on a 2:3-day basis respectively. They engage with a variety of internal and external customers and partners, and the majority of the work they carry out is to licence activity on the public highway and provide chargeable services such as vehicle crossovers (dropped kerbs), as well as process customer contact regarding the borough’s public highways.
As Support Officer - Highway Claims, the post is essential to enable the Council to process and comply with the requirements of our insurance policies. You have sound and varied experience of administration processes, including resolution of customer queries. You are polite and courteous when conversing with the public. You have the ability to ensure that a variety of tasks are completed to legislative and often conflicting timescales and standards.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be expected to gradually expand your knowledge to enable you to work flexibly and assist with other areas of work within the team so you must be able to prioritise workloads and be adaptable to change.
A regular and intrinsic part of this role requires you to speak to members of the public in English so the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role.

If you can meet challenging deadlines and deliver a high-quality service, can develop excellent working relationships with colleagues and customers both internal and external and have a passion for working in a fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you.
