What does a Technical Support Officer do at Hillingdon?

Do you have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft OneDrive, Word, Excel and Outlook? Do you like working on your own initiative in a busy constantly evolving environment? Then come and use your skills where they will really make a difference supporting the London Borough of Hillingdon’s Youth Justice Service.

Hillingdon's Youth Justice Service is located in the centre of Uxbridge within a purpose built, self-contained annex to the main civic centre with a designated reception area. With Uxbridge Station just a 5 minute stroll away, 4 day a week car parking and easy links to main travel routes combined with great shopping and restaurants it’s a fabulous place to work.

As a member of the Technical Support Team you will directly support Youth Justice Officers and managers with complex tasks requiring a wide range of administrative and IT skills, an eagerness to get things right first time and attention to detail. You will play an essential role in ensuring efficient support for the court duty system and record court outcomes. The tasks will include, but are not limited to, preparing electronic files for court, accessing and updating databases, finance, document management, tracking referrals, internal and external communication. You will be expected to support minute taking, navigating multiple complex systems, responding to emails, preparing correspondence and monitor generic inboxes.

About you

You will need to be highly organised, comfortable setting your own priorities and maintain a high level of confidentiality. You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
Please note we expect all staff to be able to travel to Council Office locations throughout Hillingdon, as directed by service needs.
You are encouraged to attach your current CV to your application, however, please ensure you include strong examples in your application to demonstrate how you meet the criteria set out in the person specification section on the job profile document.

Please contact Chanelle Mays via cmays@hillingdon.gov.uk or 01895 558 203 if you would like to discuss this role.
