Fastmarkets was founded in 1913 (as Metal Bulletin) and is a privately held UK-registered company. It is owned by global private equity firm Astorg, a specialist investor in healthcare, software, technology, business services and technology-based industrial companies.
 
About the Role

We are looking to hire an ESG Manager to play a vital role in establishing and leading Fastmarkets' sustainability function. This is a new role created to ensure Fastmarkets is the best in class amongst its peers and the broader industry in embedding sustainability across the organisation. You will formulate the ESG strategy, deliver sustainability reports and assessments, liaise with external stakeholders, and drive sustainable initiatives.
 
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop and implement Fastmarkets' sustainability strategy, aligning it with global ESG frameworks, the Paris Agreement standards and our investors’ ESG priorities 
• Deliver and oversee ESG reporting for the firm (including annual assessments), ensuring accurate and comprehensive data collection from various business units
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key sustainability initiatives and prioritise ESG objectives
• Lead working groups to drive sustainability projects and monitor progress towards established goals
• Serve as the primary point of contact for ESG matters, liaising with various teams to embed sustainability across the organisation
• Conduct internal training sessions to raise awareness and knowledge of sustainability practices among employees.
• Manage and analyse sustainability data to create meaningful reports and presentations for senior leadership and the board of directors and ensuring we meet our investors’ reporting requirements.
• Act as a spokesperson for Fastmarkets' sustainability initiatives, representing the company at external events, conferences and industry forums
 
KEY INTERFACES 

Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be working closely with the management and various teams across the organisation like sales, editorial, event, HR, legal, risk & complianceand finance.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Proven experience in establishing ESG strategies and driving them across an organisation, working with stakeholders across teams
• Strong understanding of international ESG frameworks, emerging trends and best practices
• Good understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks like TCFD, GRI, ISSB S1/2 etc
• Excellent data management and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and reports
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in a private equity-owned company
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental and social change
